The children are receiving tuition on violin, viola, ‘cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and percussion. 

The culmination of the season is an event at the Ulster Hall in June which sees the pupils perform alongside the full Ulster Orchestra for an audience of families and other guests.

The aim of the visit was to help pupils feel confident, prepared, and excited for the move to secondary education.

During the day, pupils toured the school, met some of their new teachers, and took part in fun taster lessons such as science experiments, ICT challenges, and team-building activities. They also had the chance to ask questions about timetables, clubs, school rules, and what to expect in Year 8.

The day was full of smiles and excitement, and everyone enjoyed taking part in activities that helped us learn about why Children in Need is so important. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised valuable funds to help support children and families across the UK.

A huge well done and thank you to everyone who took part and donated!

Dressed in fantastic costumes — from chimney sweeps and maids to schoolmasters and ladies in elegant gowns — the classes experienced what life was like over 100 years ago. 

They took part in old-fashioned lessons, learned about Victorian schools and inventions, and even practiced some traditional handwriting and manners! 

A huge well done to everyone for their amazing effort and enthusiasm — you really brought the Victorian era to life!

The Coutler Cup was awarded to Olly in P6 who completed a comprehensive report about a range of his family members during WW2.

With Beaux leading us as captain by scoring all our goals and Cohen (Who made the Belfast Primary School Select Team) a rock at the back with a man of the tournament performance. We won the league today after a slow start by drawing with Springfield. The lads bounced back with 2 wins including 1 against our local rivals Edenbrooke. With only needing a point in our final match to win it, Karson, who was making his debut pulled off at least 3 mighty saves to ensure we got the draw to ensure we won the festival and the league on the day. Glenwood Champions once again!
