Welcome to our P5 class page! We are delighted to have you join us for an exciting year filled with learning, laughter, creativity and discovery.

In P5, we are busy developing our skills across all areas of the curriculum. We love learning through hands-on activities, teamwork, discussion and practical experiences, helping us to become confident and independent learners.

Through our novels, we develop our reading comprehension, vocabulary, inference, prediction and discussion skills, as well as using stories to inspire our own writing.

🔢 Numeracy

In Numeracy, we explore mathematical ideas through problem-solving, practical activities, investigations and challenges. We are developing our mathematical vocabulary and learning to explain our thinking and choose different strategies to solve problems.

🌍 World Around Us

Our WAU topics this year will take us on some exciting adventures!

🦔 Wildlife in Our Local Area – exploring the animals and habitats around us.

🇮🇳 India – discovering the geography, culture, traditions and diverse landscapes of India.

🌱 Plants – investigating how plants grow, what they need to survive and their importance to our world.

🏰 Castles – exploring castles, their features and their place in history.

🏺 Ancient Egypt – travelling back in time to discover pharaohs, pyramids, Egyptian life and this fascinating ancient civilisation.

🎨 Learning Across the Curriculum

We also enjoy developing our skills through Art, PE, Music, ICT and other areas of the curriculum. We particularly enjoy opportunities to be creative, active and practical in our learning.
